This week, guest John Andrews caught and released this 36-inch, tagged male lake trout which is about 15 years old based on the number on his tag. When the fish was tagged 2 years ago, its total length was about 2 inches smaller, give or take a bit since it is likely there were differences in the way it was measured then and now. Looks like the lake trout grew about an inch a year though. They usually grow quickly at first and then their growth slows as they age.
