The 2018 season at Bow Narrows has been busy and fun for all of us here at camp. And while things calm down here this time of year, the beauty of the fall is just ramping up. Relaxed, happy guests are the name of the game with many great reviews on the food too. Streamlined breakfasts with food served in less than 30 minutes has meant anglers back out on the lake sooner. New boat seats…definite thumbs up. Camp improvements such as new decks on cabins 4, 7 and 9, as well as other upgrades like the new dock on cabin 5, have been a big hit. All that plus the call of the loon as background music.

And the fishing? As usual, the fishing has been great! While the early season heat presented some challenges, our anglers have done well. The record-heat of June changed some habits of the fish, and Brian was (and still is) happy to fish with our guests to give them a leg-up on what the fish are doing. Now that the temperatures are closer to average, the great fishing on Red Lake is more what our seasoned guests come back for year after year. It’s not too late to book a fall trip at Bow Narrows since we are open through the end of September. And fall fishing has the biggest of the lunkers fueling up for winter making the fall prime time for reeling a few in.

The forests fires in Ontario have blown some ash and smoke our way at times but are closely monitored from the air here. Thankfully, there has been no danger here at camp, and we have gotten some dramatic photos of the smoke at times.

Here is a sampling of photos taken recently.
