To quote many, these are crazy times. Who would have thought today we would be in the midst of a pandemic? Thankfully, the great majority who have had COVID-19 have successfully recovered. Yet our hearts go out with sadness to those who have not been so fortunate.

In times like these, we all wonder, “When will life go back to normal?” Probably, we will have something of a “new normal” as life moves on, but most importantly there is HOPE. Just watching our dog Niko roll in the grass in utter bliss, without a clue of what’s going on in the world, can give hope.

How to enJOY the simple things

And another source of hope is to see nature do its thing every day. Spring has arrived: the grass is green, the birds are chirping, the rain is falling and then the sun is shining. The earth is singing with gorgeous flowers popping up from the ground year after year. And the ice indeed is going out on Red Lake, waiting for the boats and anglers that are soon to come. Here is a photo of the lake’s progress a few days ago on May 1…it’s getting there, maybe a little later this year? But that’s ok.
