Every year at this time, the big question in the cycle of Bow Narrows Camp is: “When will ice-out be?” That mysterious, ever-changing date when the last of the winter ice is gone, and we can head west across Red Lake to wake up the camp. While we wait, we excitedly plan how to get things back into shape for opening day, which always coincides with the walleye opener on the 3rd Saturday in May…May 20th this year.

Sherry McCoy sent us a few photos of how the ice-out was progressing a couple of days ago. Looking good, and there’s some rain coming too. Melt ice! Melt!
