One of nature’s most formidable forces is ice, from carving out lakes, to cleaving the rock out-croppings readily seen around the shoreline and wreaking havoc with our piers at camp. Because of this destructive force over the years, floating docks have replaced the older cribbed docks. Cabin 5 will be sporting a new one come Spring 2018. Because the water at this location is very shallow, a floating dock was never an option. We have purchased a new one that is very similar to the one pictured here…except it will be 40 feet long! Each fall, it can be pulled up on shore thereby avoiding the icy perils of its predecessors. This new dock will provide a solid, easy-to-level platform for years to come.
