Over the years, I have often wondered what it would be like to spend a winter at camp. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Recently, Jaime Robinson snapped some photos of our camp giving us a glimpse of our sleeping sanctuary. I think you will agree that winter’s blanket bestows yet another facet of beauty to our part of the Ontario wilderness. In the not-so-distant future, the thaw will come, along with our guests and we’ll be there to greet them once again!
Thanks, Jaime, for capturing this moment for all of us!

Brian! (Happy New Year, Valentine’s, President’s, and any other days missed!),
One of the Moninger Station owners, Rosalie, told Don Boughman many years back, she wanted to spend a winter at the west end of the lake. Don stated that he did it once. He told her, “If you want to know what it’s like, you should find your favorite room in her house. Put sheets over the windows and stay there for about six months. That’s what it’s like.”
Don also talked about perfecting the “seal dive.” That’s where you don’t have ice on the lake yet, and you need a bath. He said he would strip down to his birthday suit, jump in and turn right back and get on the dock, soap up, jump in again and go right back onto the dock like a seal. Somehow being cold takes on new meaning! See you soon.
Always wondered what the camp looked like in white!!! Although, the camp wears green very well too!!! Those pictures are awesome!!!!
