We do have faith that winter will actually end in Red Lake. They have been getting snow and cold temps still even in April. Good thing this year’s opening day on May 21 is later than some years. We are excited about the staff that we have in place for the 2022 season, and we are confident they will do a great job helping to get things up and running again. After the rough last two years, we are ready for it!
We know that you are all painfully aware of how the cost of everything has increased tremendously. But Bow Narrows Camp is determined to hold rates the same as they have been for the last few years…for 1 more year. So we have implemented a few cost-saving measures.
1. Payments: We will not be accepting credit/debit cards at this time. Cash, money orders, travelers checks and, for returning guests, personal checks are what you can pay your final bill with. We are happy to give you an estimated invoice as needed. Just shoot us an email if that would be helpful.
2. Towels: We are asking that you bring your own bath towels… all towels for the bathroom except for the bathmat. (We will still supply the kitchen towels.) This will help tremendously in keeping costs down.
All the rest of what you expect from a trip to Bow Narrows…comfortable cabins, beautiful views, great boats and motors, quality boat seats, excellent food…all of it will still be waiting for you.
At the time of the writing of this blog, the COVID testing requirement to cross the border has been lifted. You will need to be fully vaccinated in order to pass into Canada though. Here is the link to check for the details and latest information about border crossing. https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada Additionally, here is a video from Border Services. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGE_6DNIpbU
As always, and especially in the past few years, we appreciate your understanding and support through these times. As our email address says “Bow Narrows Forever” — full steam ahead! We are so looking forward to having a camp full of guests again. It will be great to see all of you. And get ready…the big lunkers are well-rested and full of fight!
I was up last Labor day week at Eagle Falls and I can honestly say that in the 40 years I’ve been fishing Red Lake it was the best pike fishing I have ever seen for size and numbers at your end of the lake and our area of the lake. It should hopefully carry over to this year as well. I wish for you guys and all the camps a fantastic season. You all deserve it after all this the last 3 years.
Dave D.
Thank you, Dave. It has been a rough time but everyone is ready for recovery!
