All summer long…chatter chatter screech! As if to exclaim, “Niko! Come on! Come on! Catch me if you can!” Niko, our beloved camp dog, watches and waits…and then tries to jump up the tree trunk. Over and over, we have seen this dance. We just aren’t sure if Niko wants to take the squirrel out or wants to play. But the squirrel is relentless, calling Niko from near and far…when Niko is in the lodge, when Niko is off on the front dock, doesn’t matter where. We have even had a squirrel yell at us from the moose skull on the tree by the fish house. They are small but mighty little rodents. We’ll see who wins.
